I’m a proud member of the Beyhive. Since 2023, I’ve been running a Beyoncé fan account — first on Weibo and now on Red Note. I make sure every piece of content and design is top-notch, because our Queen Bey deserves nothing less.

When I helped out with this project, I was establishing a design system library for the team, where I crafted these icons based on a work-in-progress brand guideline. Glad they made it into the launched website!

I was always intrigued by official documents from the old times — metal type printing, multiple typefaces, thoughtful layout and collectible quality. Then, there comes Microsoft Word. Everything changes to putting as much information (screaming in our faces) as possible. Digital efficiency somehow kills the beauty of those papers that are meant to hold in hands. When Christmas is the holiday and Lunar New Year is just-another-day, I created something to honor my culture, a pin that I can wear, show, and remind myself of the very celebration dear to my heart.

A childhood friend had become a leader of his family business — a food company that provides green, healthy, organic ingredients for everyday cooking. He wanted to work with me to give the business a brand refresh to attract younger generations of customers.

Giorgia Lupi came to visit my grad program that day. For that event, I created poster series that mimic her process of work — beautifully recording data bit by bit. She liked it!

In a market shelf that’s full of white or cream colored body lotion bottles, which one you will choose? In a class exercise, I reimagined a trusted old brand’s young product line — Gold Bond Ultimate —to be dark and premium, while keeping its yellow cap brand legacy.

Villains are made, not created. Every villain from our childhood seems to be evil by default, which is a bias in itself. In this project, I created a series of mini story books (for tiny hands) that tells the background stories of some of the famous villains — how they became who they are.

This was a brand identity redesign concept for Eat Offbeat, a caterer delivers authentic ethnic meals that are conceived, prepared and delivered by refugees in NYC. The goal of this project was to give Eat Offbeat a modern look while emphasize its multicultural authenticity. Eventually, they turned to Pentagram for their real rebrand.

A poster series that aims to promote yet capture the vibes of Dekalb Market in Downtown Brooklyn.

In that type class, I collected some introverts’ stories and created a magazine for introverts. Introverse is here to provides insights and methods that help introverts succeed in everyday socialization.

Gail Anderson came to visit my grad program that day. For that event, I created poster series and display animation that were inspired by her body of work.

My cousin opened a small congee shop that fulfills to-go orders for busy workers. He wanted an identity that could help his small business standout from the crowd.

On May 11, Graphic Design program at California College of the Arts hosted MORE, its 2018 Senior Show, at Astro Studios. As one of the designers, we want the MORE story to narrate our learning and growth (graphic lovers, to players, to designers) in CCA graphic design program, using simple geometric shapes—represent literally ‘graphics.’

This was an etiquette poster campaign I created for Bay Area Rapid Transit, as known as “BART.” With a list of customers complaints, BART asked us to create a fun, cheeky, buzz-creating campaign that encourages behavior change or cooperation. This poster series addresses elevator cleanliness, littering, and riding behaviors.

A restaurant identity concept designed for children to escape from the ‘cage’ created by modern digital devices. It provides cooking lessons and other activities while engaging children in nature.

A ‘book-about-a-block’ project. The ‘spying’ theme of this project was started from graphic research on the 3rd street between Mariposa street and 18th street in San Francisco, and inspired by the windows on building façades on that block. As an extension of the book, The Game of Spying, PEEP is a physical board game takes the form of Chutes and Ladders.
